2024 / 2025 WHTA Research Update
Introduction
The WHTA Members only Annual Research Update is the premier event of the WHTA calendar.
This annual event is designed to ensure WHTA Members are aware of all the most important and relevant research papers that have been published in the field of women's health physiotherapy in the preceding two years.
The event alternates between focusing on "Female Pelvic Floor" one year (2019, 2021, 2023, 2025 etc), then "The Childbearing Year" the next year (2020, 2022, 2024, 2026 etc).
The end product usually involves 900 -1200 power point slides of summarised research presented across 16-24 hours of live online lectures* where attendees are able to ask questions in real time. After being presented live, the recording is then made available to all who enrolled 3-6months after the event.
*note: in 2024, the second half of the research update will also have the option to be attended face-to-face on board a 3 night cruise out of Brisbane on Royal Carribean's Quantum of the Seas.
2024 Topic Areas
2024 Research Update: "The Childbearing Year" (pregnancy & up to 1 year postpartum)
Due to the ever increasing volume of research and duration of the research update, for the first time WHTA has decided to split the 2024 Research Update into two parts held across November 2024 and March 2025.....
PART A: held in November 2024
approximately 12hrs covering 'non-pelvic floor topics'
TOPIC 1: EXERCISE IN PREGNANCY
TOPIC 2: DIASTASIS RECTUS ABDOMINIS
TOPIC 3: LUMBOPELVIC PAIN IN PREGNANCY / POSTPARTUM
PART B: held in MARCH 2025
approximately 12 hours covering 'pelvic floor related topics for the childbearing year'
TOPIC 4: PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIO FOR THE PREGNANT PATIENT (incl birth preparation)
TOPIC 5: EARLY POSTPARTUM PELVIC FLOOR CARE (including early OASI care)
TOPIC 6: PELVIC FLOOR RECOVERY ACROSS THE FIRST PP YEAR (including Avulsion, POP, UI)
note: PART A will only be available live online with a recording available afterwards.
PART B will be available in either a face-to-face or online live format, also with a recording available afterwards
note 2: only those who attend the course face-to-face or who attend at least one live online session per part are eligible to receive the recording.
Dates and Time 2024 / 2025
PART A: LIVE ONLINE twice in November 2024
Participants can mix and match sessions between options 1 and option 2
However.... participants must attend at least 1 session live online to received the full recording of part A in Feb 2025
PART B: MARCH 2025
Part B of the Research Update will be run three times in March 2025
1. Face-to-Face on a 3 Night Cruise out of Brisbane, Australia starting Friday 7th March
2. Live Online on the weekend starting Friday 14th March 2025
3. Live Online on the weekend starting Friday 21st March 2025
Both the participants attending the Face-to-Face Sessions and those attending Live Online sessions will be given access to the recording in June 2025
However, participants enrolled for the Live Online option MUST ATTEND at least 1 session live online to receive the recording

*IMPORTANT NOTE
The WHTA Research Update is a service for members aimed to keep members constantly up to date with the latest research available. It is written from scratch with completely new evidence every year. Members who attend every year are given a reduced fee known as the 'regular attender discount' which is a 12% discount off the base fee for every year (up to a maximum of 4 years or 48%) that the member has attended the WHTA Annual Research Update across the previous 4 years. For 2024, a 12% discount will apply per Research Update attended from 2020 - 2023
Note re: Non-Members
This is a WHTA Member Only event. Non-members will be charged the lifetime membership fee of $99 to become members if they wish to attend.
